TIPS FOR BUYING A SECOND HOME

Having a second residence is a deeply rooted tradition in Spain, and especially in the Valencian Community.

Valencia, due to its coastal location, encourages many families to have an apartment on the coast, which has traditionally been called the house of "the sea", where they usually spend the summer months and even weekends, seeking to enjoy the beach and a better climate.

It is also quite common to have a second residence in "the town". Many of our ancestors lived in inland towns, either in Valencia or even in other regions such as La Mancha, so it is very common for the family home in the town to be a meeting point for the family on vacation and during the summer months. .

On the other hand, there are those who prefer the tranquility that the mountains or the countryside give them, so they look for a residence on the outskirts of the city, with little neighborhood, and where they can disconnect from the daily routine.

Whatever your choice, we share some tips that will help you in choosing your second home:

1️⃣ Talk to the neighbourhood: it is very important to try to find out who will be the neighbors of your new home, since to a large extent, they will make your stay more or less pleasant.

2️⃣ Study the market well: don't let yourself be guided by impulsiveness, and study well all the options offered by the area. A real estate consultant can guide you according to your needs.

3️⃣ Calculate expenses: The purchase of a home generates a series of expenses that must be taken into account, such as ITP, IBI, garbage rate, community expenses.
